Arrival in Gangtok
Arrive at Gangtok and spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude. You can explore some of the city's attractions or relax before beginning your trek.
Gangtok to Lachen (9,000 ft)
From Gangtok, you'll drive to Lachen, a small village situated in the upper reaches of North Sikkim. The journey offers breathtaking views of mountains, valleys, and rivers along the way. Upon arrival, settle in for an overnight stay at Lachen.
Lachen to Thangu Village (13,000 ft)
Today, drive from Lachen to Thangu Village, located at 13,000 feet. Thangu is a picturesque, remote settlement surrounded by expansive alpine meadows. After a short acclimatization walk, enjoy an overnight stay in the village.
Thangu to Lashar Valley Trek
Begin your trek from Thangu and head towards Lashar Valley. The trail passes through lush meadows, alpine forests, and grazing pastures. The day's trek provides magnificent views of high-altitude landscapes, eventually reaching the valley where you’ll set up camp.
Exploration of Lashar Valley
Spend the day exploring Lashar Valley. With its meandering rivers, green pastures, and snow-capped mountains, this valley is an untouched paradise. You can hike around, enjoy the peaceful environment, and photograph the scenic beauty.
Trek Back to Thangu Village
After exploring the valley, start your descent and retrace your steps back to Thangu Village. Upon arrival, rest and enjoy a peaceful evening in the village.
Thangu to Lachen and Return to Gangtok
Begin your journey back by trekking from Thangu to Lachen. From Lachen, you'll be driven back to Gangtok for an overnight stay. This marks the end of your trek.
Departure from Gangtok
Depending on your onward travel plans, you’ll either leave Gangtok via NJP, Bagdogra, or Phontsoling.
